Sales & pricing

The right price, without asking anyone

Distribution pricing is not one number. It is a distributor rate, a retail rate, a negotiated rate for the account that argues, a scheme this month, and a floor nobody may go below. Crateline resolves that in the order screen so your desk stops guessing and your margin stops leaking.

Prices resolve by rule

A price list can hang off a customer, a customer group, a channel or a territory. The most specific one wins, quantity slabs apply, and the screen shows you which rule produced the number — so a disagreement is a five-second check, not an argument.

  • Customer → group → channel → base, most specific wins
  • Quantity slabs and per-unit-of-measure prices
  • A visible trace of why a price is what it is

Floors that hold

You can let a salesperson type a price. What you cannot afford is that price going below your floor without anyone noticing. Crateline flags it on the draft and blocks it at confirmation — including on manually typed prices.

  • Floors per item or per channel, strictest rule wins
  • Flagged while drafting, enforced at confirm
  • Applies to manual overrides too

Credit decided before the truck leaves

Every customer carries a limit and terms. At confirmation crateline checks live outstanding and overdue — not a stale column — and either lets it through, warns, or parks the order for approval.

  • Block, warn or require approval, set per customer
  • Overdue triggers the policy even when there is headroom
  • Approvals are logged with who released it

Schemes without spreadsheets

Buy ten get one free. Five per cent off above fifty cartons. A value discount for the month. These live in the system as data, apply automatically, and appear on the invoice — instead of being remembered, or forgotten.

  • Free goods, quantity discount, value discount, slabs
  • Overlap resolved by a stated priority, never stacked by accident
  • Visible on the order and the invoice

Route and beat planning for field salesmen. The field app is on the roadmap, not in your hands today — if your reps take orders on the road, that is still a phone call to the desk.
