Invoicing & money

Compliant invoices, and a straight answer on who owes you

Crateline issues the tax invoice your market expects, then keeps the money side honest: receipts knocked off against specific invoices, aging that reflects the original date, and a statement you can hand a customer who disputes the number.

Outstanding and aging, computed live from invoices and receipts — never a stored number that drifts.

The tax your market actually charges

A tax invoice is not a template with a percentage on it. Crateline determines the treatment from the document itself — the seller, the buyer, where they are, and the scheme in force — and prints what that market requires.

  • UAE and Saudi VAT, including zero-rated exports and reverse charge
  • Indian GST with CGST/SGST or IGST decided by place of supply
  • GSTR-1 export for Indian tenants; tax register everywhere

An invoice is a snapshot, not a live document

Once issued, an invoice cannot be edited — a database trigger refuses it. Names, tax numbers and rates are frozen as they were on the day. Corrections are credit and debit notes, the way an auditor expects.

  • Immutable from birth, enforced at the database
  • Partial credit notes prorate the lines they credit
  • Debit notes for a rate correction or recovered freight

Money owed, computed not stored

Outstanding and aging are folds over invoices, credit notes and payments — worked out when you ask. There is no cached balance to go stale, which is why the collections list and the customer statement always agree.

  • Aging buckets from the original document date
  • Receipts allocated against specific invoices
  • Printable statement of account for any customer

Carrying over what you are already owed

Switching systems does not zero your debtors. Crateline records what each customer owed on the day you cut over as its own document — ageing from its real date, and deliberately kept out of your tax registers so you never restate tax you already filed.

  • Opening balances age correctly from day one
  • Never invents tax on pre-cutover money
  • Excluded from the tax register and GSTR-1 by design

Not built yet

Full statutory accounting. Crateline keeps a real double-entry ledger for the trade cycle, but it is not your audit-filing accounting package — most customers still hand a period export to their accountant.
